Hendricks Therapy is proud to announce the opening of a new, outpatient Mental Health practice in the Lafayette area. We are working to serve the community following the sudden and unexpected closure of former outpatient practice, Alpine Health.

For the new office, Hendricks Therapy has hired experienced, respected providers and staff from Alpine, including nurse practitioners Hayley Kaelin, Dr. Christy McLaughlin, Leann Sharp, and a neuropsychologist, Dr. Kelly Earnst. Hendricks Therapy will also be recruiting therapists and additional prescribers to help meet the growing need for mental health services.  Both the therapy and psychiatric medication management will be available in-person or via telehealth.  Hendricks Therapy has been providing behavioral healthcare in central Indiana since 2001, with offices in Danville, Plainfield, and Downtown Indianapolis.

Part of our mission is to grow to meet the needs of the community. Opening the new location is a direct response to that need for the Lafayette area.

For those seeking mental health services, you may register for a new patient appointment here. If you are interested in a position with the new office, you may check out our career page.

We accept most commercial insurance, Medicare and Self-Pay. Please note that we are credentialing our new providers with a variety of insurance carriers, so we may not have everyone in network yet. If you do not see your insurance carrier listed, keep checking back as we continue to add additional insurance options.

Due to the social stigma surrounding therapy, it can be intimidating to seek help for a mental illness or disorder. However, mental health services have never been more accessible or valuable, especially in the hectic rush of the modern era. In fact, counseling services can be beneficial for everyone, regardless of the severity of the symptoms they may be experiencing.

Many people struggle with mental health issues, no matter their age, background, or career. Movie stars, politicians, singers, and CEOs all suffer from similar kinds of mental health concerns as students, teachers, teenagers, and parents.

If you think you may need the perspective and insight that comes with speaking to a licensed therapist, psychologist, or professional counselor, consider the counseling services at Thriveworks Counseling & Child Therapy Lafayette. We are committed to helping you find relief from mental ailments and develop healthy habits to integrate into your daily life.

Will I Benefit from Therapy or Counseling?

You don’t have to cope with these uncomfortable feelings by yourself. Even if you think that your challenges aren’t difficult enough to warrant therapy, addressing mental conditions early can help prevent them from becoming worse over time.

What are the warning signs?

If you’re concerned a loved one may be suffering from anxiety or depression, the earliest warning sign is often a significant change in personality, licensed therapist and Roundtable Wellness Clinical Services Director Tessa Garrow said.

If a loved one is carrying themselves or interacting with others differently, for example being more withdrawn and less engaged, Garrow encourages starting a compassionate conversation. It’s important to approach the conversation as offering to listen rather than being accusatory that something is wrong.

“There’s something really powerful being that non-judgmental character,” Garrow said. ”We can be our own worst critics, so being someone that allows for that judgment-free space is really important.”

The CDC also list the following behaviors as signs of anxiety or depression:

  • Feeling irritable‚ easily frustrated‚ or restless
  • Having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep
  • Waking up too early or sleeping too much
  • Eating more or less than usual or having no appetite
  • Experiencing aches, pains, headaches, or stomach problems that do not improve with treatment
  • Having trouble concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions
  • Feeling tired‚ even after sleeping well
  • Feeling guilty, worthless, or helpless
